Steps to Becoming a Foster Parent

Initial Inquiry & Connection

Reach out to Avon Family Foster Services to share your interest. We'll provide an information package and discuss the initial requirements for fostering in the Stratford area.

Information Session

Attend a family-friendly orientation where you'll learn about the unique needs of children in care and the trauma-informed support we provide to all our foster families.

PRIDE Pre-Service Training

Complete the Parent Resources for Information, Development, and Education (PRIDE) program, designed to equip you with the skills needed for therapeutic foster care.

The Home Study Process

Approval & First Placement
